I think this store deserves much credit because of the way they keep space open for people to look at their animals despite large crowds of people (and kids). I'm glad this business is in Windward mall, and I hope the mall recognizes how nice it is to have a mini-zoo in their mall! Prices for pet supplies are not bad when you find those sale items and they have a great selection of fish, birds and reptiles.

6/17/2021 Wandered in and saw piggies, puppies, bunnies, Jackson chameleons, crickets, birds, Betta fish (a huge selection), and other tropical fish, plants, and pet supplies. My friend and I were approached by more than one salesperson and asked if we needed help. When we replied that we were just browsing, the staff encouraged us to, "Make sure and ask if you need anything." Pleasant salespeople! It was fun looking the variety of pets and items that they had.

We told Matt about a fish that died (that we'd bought from the store less than two weeks prior) and he immediately gave us a replacement and advice on what to do differently. So far, the fish is doing very well. This is a clean, well-lit store that has a great selection of products and a knowledgeable, friendly staff!

Me and my husband love this place! They keep their fish healthy. The prices for fish are decent. They have every intermediate tool you could need. We love walking into this store every weekend and never get tired of what they have. We bought our puppy about 7 months ago and we love him so much. They were the best from the moment we asked to see him to the moment we walked out with our new son. We could tell that they really take care of their animals. Puppy was healthy. He was staying in good conditions. He was already pee pad trained! We will forever love this place!

I have been shopping here my entire adult life! Many years of friendly, local, service and healthy fish and animals. The only pet shop I purchase animals from. A great business to support.

I love the variety of Pets and how spacious it is. They have rabbits, turtles, puppies, and so much more. Their variety of fish is beautiful. I have bought two beautiful huge Male Fantails from Ko’olau Pets!!!👍👍👍 …

Ko'olau Pets may not be the most competitively-priced pet store, but it's a local mainstay on the Windward side where you can often find unique domestic livestock; fresh and brackish water aquarium life and supplies. I appreciate this family-owned business and knowledgeable, friendly local staff. I introduced my keiki to Ko'olau pets when they were young and every time we're at Windward Mall, we stop in. We've purchased many different gilled, feathered, scaled and furry pets here, and we will continue to support this local business

I cannot even begin to explain how awesome this place is! It's a real old school pet store like I haven't seen in decades. They have the BEST animal selection! They actually have pure breeds of dogs in there all the time. I almost died the last time I went there because they had 5 Frenchie puppies for sale. Do you know how hard those are to find here!? They have the cutest bunnies on earth, turtles, birds, fish in the back. The staff is really awesome. They don't judge me when I'm squealing at the top of my lungs because something is so cute; I start doing it and don't even realize it until I'm like, supersonic loud... lol! It's really difficult not to because every time you turn around, you see some new animal that adorable!

Don't belive all the negative reviews. Koolau has been around for over 20 years specializing in PETS, there is absolutely no neglect going on of any sort. All the pets in this store are HEALTHY and HAPPY. Veterinarian proved. The individuals writing reviews are blatant lies. This business is very reputable come in and see for yourself!
